A striking PAIR of antique architectural corbels in the classical European Louis XV or Baroque/Rococo style. Constructed of heavy wood with a hollow-core structure. Decorative outer shell features painted and antiqued finish with gilded highlights and carved acanthus leaf top flourish.
Mounting Infrastructure: The flat back pane shows structural heavy timber framing, slot openings for mounting into a wall or pillar framework.
Architectural corbels are structural pieces designed to project from a wall to carry weight, though they often serve purely decorative purposes, repurposed on flat surfaces as standalone sculptural statement pieces, tabletop bookends, or inverted to serve as the structural legs/pedestals for a custom low console table.
