19th Century Gilded Plaster Angel

19th Century gilded plaster angel with remarkable provenance. This striking piece happily hung on the wall between the 2 interior doors of a one-room schoolhouse in a small community called Ashdada (near Calabogie) since the early 1970's. It previously belonged to a couple living on the grounds of the Manresa Jesuit Retreat in Pickering. It is believed that this was where it originated. The angel remains in excellent condition for its age with gilding that has been carefully maintained and touched up over the decades. The face and forehead have been skillfully restored where paint loss occurred. Ready to hang with wooden mounting cleat affixed to the back.
