Early hand-forged, Ball-on-Heart, Suffolk thumblatch ca. 1740-1840

Unique ball-on-heart-themed early Suffolk thumblatch. It features the smithy's skills through the display of its matched upper and lower terminals. This latch handle is suitable for gunstock doors or doors with narrow stiles.

The handle is 1 1/2" wide, 10" tall, and the set has an  81/2" latch bar with a lift knob. The latch bar guide and keeper are meant to be driven and peened upon installation.
