Hand-forged half moon & spear Suffolk thumblatch ca. 1740-1840

This is a large Suffolk thumblatch featuring unusual half-moon-and- spear patterned upper and lower terminals.

The handle is 3 1/4 " wide, 13 1/4" tall, and the set has a 9 " latch bar and forged guide and keeper, both meant to be driven and peened when installed.
