Floral themed forged thumblatch ca. 1640-1740

Very early forged urn-shaped backplate with bouquet-shaped upper terminal and driven/peened bottom connection. This set features an extraordinary, recently-made, hand-forged thumb piece.

Handle is 2 3/8" wide, 8" tall, with a  7 1/2" latch bar.
