Beautiful brass Victorian Unit Lock.

"Unit" lock sets were first manufactured by the Corbin Lock Company. According to Maud Eastwood's book on hardware, they "gained the widest acceptance in the shortest amount of time of any lock put on the market up to the 20th century. The entire lock is assembled and ready for quick application: saw out a small block from the stile in the door, then, without further fitting or adjustment, slip the lock into place and permanently attach it with screws.

The most inexperienced artisan can apply this lock so that it will work perfectly."

This unit is 4" wide and 10" tall and has a cylinder lock in the exterior knob which a conventional locksmith can key. Key not included.
