Unique goose or swan-themed early thumblatch featuring the maker's subtle blacksmithing talent with an avian-shaped upper terminal. This latch likely secured the entrance to its affluent owner's goose coop or swan refuge. Handle 2 5/8" wide, 12 1/2" tall, with 19 1/2" latch bar with lift knob.
