Unusual two-piece thumblatch set ca. 1740-1840

Unusual two-piece thumb piece and handle combination comprising an iron thumbpiece pierced through a brass backplate mounted above a separate classic iron ornate pull handle. 

Latch set is 7.25"tall, 2"wide, with a 6.5" latch blade.
